A veneer is a thin porcelain façade that is bonded outer layer of a tooth. It is very thin, oftentimes no more than ½ of a millimeter. With a veneer or any full-porcelain crown there’s no dark line above the tooth, which is often the case with a crown that has a metal substructure.
